Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She is often featured in CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Prior to joining CNN in June 2015, she was meteorologist for local stations in Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The station covered blizzards and hurricanes in addition to flooding and wildfires. She was honored with an Emmy for the coverage she offered of Dorian. Dorian that struck the Bahamas in 2019. She also has covered her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011 when over 350 tornadoes hit in the Southeastern United States in just four days, with over 200 on the 27th in a single day. Chinchar has reported on weather patterns, climate change and volcanic eruptions and earthquakes because of her experience in environmental science. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelor's program of Atmospheric Science, which she received from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society as well as the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
